Compliance Legislative Reform Working Group
20 November 2009
The APVMA is calling for expressions of interest from industry to participate in a compliance legislative reform working group. The purpose of the working group is to critically evaluate current compliance provisions in the Agvet Codes with a view to making recommendations for improvements. Improvements may include:
- strengthening and rationalising offence provisions
- considering the introduction of civil penalties
- enhancing the range and effectiveness of administrative remedies, and
- streamlining of evidence collection.
Ideally the group would include representatives from across the APVMA’s stakeholder profile. Once the group is established, Terms of Reference can be finalised and a discussion paper distributed. Meetings may consist of virtual meetings and/or meetings at the APVMA in Canberra. All costs of participation are expected to be absorbed by participants.
